Our new website design is starting to take shape. It still needs some tweaks here and there but I am working on it. Of course, if this is your first visit to our site you won't notice the difference. Take my word for it. It looks much nicer!

Also, we have a great new service we will be introducing exclusively for Prairie Crossing residents very soon. Watch for it...

Very soon, we are going to start talking to people who are interested in working in the cafe. Because of the Metra schedule, we're planning on opening early (maybe 5am!) during the week and staying open later on Friday & Saturday evening. That means there are a lot of options for work schedules. We're hoping to find some people who want to work early mornings (5-8:30?) before their 9am work/classes. And some who want to work days or evenings or weekends or any mix of the above as full or part-time. We're also planning on hiring a full-time manager, who has experience managing a cafe or coffee shop.

Hello everyone!

I'm John and I'm the other proprietor of this cafe. We’ve been meeting with the general contractor and have a meeting with the architect coming up this week. We’re hoping to apply for permits soon and start construction around the end of August or so. If you’ve walked by lately, you’ve seen how much space we have for outdoor seating (thanks to the Ranneys!). We’re hoping to be open before we need to get space heaters running out there.

In the meantime, we’ll try to get an espresso mocha and some cheese to Devon, to tie her over.

Things are moving along in our preperations for the café - although never as quickly as we would always like. Who knew there were so many things to plan before we actually just start hammering and building things?

In the meantime, we have a final version of the logo we will be using.

John, Scott and I were delighted by the warm welcome we received from the Prairie Crossing community at Sunday's Open House. Thank you so much to all of you who came! We loved having the opportunity to meet you all. It was wonderful to be able to hear your thoughts and ideas. Thanks for letting us answer your questions and share our plans for the Prairie Croissant Café. Let's do it again on opening day, especially with the gallons of coffee and pastries that went so fast I didn't even get a bite (a trend we hope to see continue!).

We are participating in an open house for the new businesses at Station Square. It will be from 2-5pm on April 30 at the Burnham Building in Station Square.

We will be serving some samples of the coffee and desserts we will offer at the cafe. Please come by and chat for a while. We would love to meet you and talk about what we are planning as well as exchange ideas.
