As summer winds down and cool weather returns, changes are afoot at
Prairie Croissant Cafe. We are sharpening our focus and renewing our
commitment to Prairie Croissant's original vision- being the absolute best coffee shop in Lake County with a core commitment to Fair Trade, organics and sustainability. We are excited about expanding our in-house organic bakery and will have many more wonderful pastries and treats to offer. Call in the day before, before noon, and we are happy to fulfill special orders for organic fruit and flax muffins, organic coffee cake, authentic French baguettes and organic sweets trays- 847-223-9800.

To accommodate this commitment, Prairie Croissant Cafe will move our focus away from lunch and sandwich shop offerings. Beginning today, will no longer be having sandwiches or salads, and soups will be available while supplies last. Breakfast sandwiches and organic quiche will be available all day, of course, and Fair Trade organic coffee, tea and lattes are always brewing, steeping and steaming.

Fall is here and with cooler weather comes warmer drinks. We have some new wonderful drinks to warm up with at the cafe. First, is our new Hot Caramel Apple Cider. We start with some fantastic fresh pressed apple cider and add a touch of caramel for a true autumn taste in a warm mug. I recommend hovering over your warm mug and just letting the fragrant steam waft up to your nasal passages for a minute first!

We also have a new Pumpkin Spice Latte. Your favorite Prairie Croissant latte with the essence of pumpkin pie. Smells so good you'll be looking for the turkey. (Not to worry. We will have a new turkey panini very soon!)

And finally, the yet to be named vanilla cinnamon latte. A treat so delicious that we have struggled to find a name for it that lives up to the taste. However, we didn't want that small detail to keep it off of our menu. We are currently taking suggestions for a name, but in the meantime, just come in and ask for the "vanilla cinnamon thing" and have one for inspiration.

Our new espresso machine was custom made for us in Holland. It is currently sitting in a warehouse somewhere in a nearby suburb, waiting patiently to be installed on the coffee counter in the cafe.
